The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) recently launched the second round of the Cooking in Healthy Electrified Commercial Kitchens (CHECK) Rebate & Education Program. Here is what you can expect in the upcoming round:
- Expanded Eligibility and Increased Rebate Amounts: As of July, restaurants are now eligible to apply for the rebates in addition to K-12 schools, higher education institutions, not-for-profit healthcare facilities, and community service nonprofits. Additionally, the rebate amounts have been increased for all eligible applicants. Please refer to the table below for details:
Extended Application Period: PADEP has extended the rebate application period through December 31, 2023. This will provide more flexibility in planning and applying for the rebate.
Double Rebate Opportunity: If you have already applied for a rebate in the first round of CHECK, you are now eligible for a second rebate in this second round of CHECK. This means you can potentially receive an additional rebate of $8500. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to maximize your savings!
Assistance with Selecting Induction Cooking Equipment: If you need any guidance or support in selecting the right induction cooking equipment for your commercial kitchen, PADEP has two trusted experts who are ready to assist you. You can reach out to Chef Chris Galarza of Forward Dining Solutions LLC or Chef Norbert Zastavny of BSE Keystone. They have extensive knowledge and experience in the field and will be more than happy to help you make informed decisions.
Induction Cooking Workshop and Webinar: To further support your journey towards kitchen electrification, PADEP will be hosting an induction cooking workshop in September.
